HGTV Dream Home 2014 Takes Shape in Lake Tahoe

The HGTV Dream Home 2014, located at Shaffer’s Mill in Truckee, Calif. is said to be a true exemplification of New Mountain architecture.

New Mountain architecture is a home style hybrid where traditional meets contemporary. Exterior finishes include cedar siding and rustic stonework, while large windows, exposed structural beams and minimalist landscaping provide a modern design composition. The expanse of glass windows and sliding-door systems create a connection between indoors and outdoors.

The 3,200-square-foot floor plan includes a living wing and bedroom wing that are separated by an outdoor living space. Two additional bedrooms and a family room/media center are found upstairs.
