The poll which ran from December 23, 2013 to January 13, 2014 is the culmination of a year of “House of the Week” winners as chosen by readers. The home that captured the most votes will be officially crowned House of the Year. You may recognize the above from Francis Ford Coppola’s iconic film “The Godfather, Part II.”  As West Lake Tahoe’s finest condominium right on the water’s edge, this exquisite one-of-a-kind masterpiece was remastered using only the finest materials from around the world. Amenities include five fireplaces, area tennis courts, pool, work out facility, pier, clubhouse, and guest suite, all tucked within the highly secure and gated Fleur du Lac community, which provides 24 hour on-site security and concierge service.

Fuller Sotheby’s International Realty also made the poll with two luxury properties featured as fan favorites. 92 Indigo Way in Castle Rock, Colorado, (pictured above left, and below center) is currently on the market for $2.75 million. The 1.8-acre estate includes a two-story decorative mine elevator that adorns the front entry with authentic parts from the 1800s.

Another popular listing in WSJ’s poll was 3 Winwood Drive in Cherry Hills Village, Colorado  – (pictured below) an estate inspired by Italian Villas and in some unconventional ways, by Dan Brown’s novel ‘The Da Vinci Code’. The property sold in 2013 for an undisclosed price.

Fellow affiliate, Summit Sotheby’s International Realty made the list of favorites as well with their Farmhouse on the Creek listing – a French Country estate currently owned by Bron Roylance, celebrity make-up artist to the stars and dear friend of actor Pierce Brosnon who was interviewed by the Wall Street Journal back in September of 2013 for House of the Day. Located in Sundance, Utah the property is currently on the market for $7.9 million.
